Entrepreneurs create opportunities and foster innovation. At EY, we take immense pride in acknowledging and honoring the remarkable contributions of these visionary individuals through our prestigious EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™(EOY) India Awards program. We recognized artistic entrepreneurs who have continuously repainted and reframed our economy from innovative new perspectives and created opportunities that have a lasting impact on communities, contributing to a better working world.
The EOY Awards program is widely regarded as the world’s first truly global business award, highlighting the top entrepreneurial talent. The first EOY program took place in 1986 in the US. In India, the EOY program was formally launched in 1999 in Mumbai. This year marked a significant milestone for India as we celebrated 25 years of recognizing outstanding entrepreneurs. The India EOY program has celebrated over 350 outstanding entrepreneurs.
Every year, an independent jury comprised of some of India’s most prominent business leaders selects the program’s finalists and winners. The EOY title winners include some of the most influential and recognizable names across the globe — Vellayan Subbiah, Sajjan Jindal, Falguni Nayar, Harsh C. Mariwala, Dr. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Siddhartha Lal, Sanjiv Bajaj, Vivek Chaand Sehgal, NR Narayana Murthy, Uday Kotak, Adi Godrej, Sunil Bharti Mittal, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Anand Mahindra, Mukesh Ambani, Anil Agarwal, and Dilip Shanghvi, to name a few.

Mumbai, 23 February 2024: In a celebration of entrepreneurial excellence, Vellayan Subbiah, Chairman, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Co Ltd and Executive Vice Chairman, Tube Investments of India has been awarded the esteemed EY Entrepreneur of the Year™ Award 2023 (EOY). The nine-member independent jury led by K V Kamath, Former Chairman of ICICI Bank, selected Vellayan Subbiah as the EOY 2023 winner for his bold strategies to transform existing businesses while seizing new opportunities through acquisitions and diversification, which not only helped him grow his group companies to unprecedented scale but also created four times increase in shareholder value in just three years.

Mumbai, 13 February 2024: EY India proudly commemorates a remarkable milestone this year as it celebrates the silver jubilee of the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year™ – India (EOY) Awards program in the country. The firm today unveiled the 11 exceptional entrepreneurs selected as Finalists for the EOY 2023 Awards. Chosen from a pool of over 260 outstanding nominations, these Finalists will be honoured at a grand celebratory Awards Banquet to be held on Friday, 23 February 2024, in Mumbai.
