Brazil’s Positivo Tecnologia Acquires Algar’s IT Business; Aims for AI Acceleration – Nearshore Americas

Brazilian technology firm Positivo Tecnologia acquired Algar TI, the managed IT services business of Grupo Algar, widening its footprints to dozens of countries across Latin America.
Headquartered in the city of Uberlândia, Algar TI boasts a team of approximately 4,500 professionals with a well-established presence in 16 Latin American countries, including key markets like Mexico, Colombia and Argentina.
In Brazil, it operates in most major cities, including São Paulo, Brasília, Uberlândia, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, Maranhão and Pará.
The company closed 2023 with an annual revenue of R$459 million (approximately US$9 million), capping a strong three-year period of 19% CAGR.
Their established client base exceeds 160 corporations across diverse sectors, including consumer goods, extractive industries, financial institutions, insurance companies and public entities.

The acquisition unlocks a valuable technology portfolio for Positivo Tecnologia. Algar’s IT division offers cutting-edge servers equipped with Nvidia’s leading AI technologies, complementing Positivo’s hardware expertise.
Furthermore, the acquisition includes a comprehensive array of devices like AI-powered notebooks, desktops, tablets and smartphones. These solutions integrate with TI Consultoria’s management and consultancy services, facilitating the seamless deployment of advanced AI tools for task optimization across various industries.
