The Sunday Times partnered with employee-experience platform WorkL and posed 26 questions from WorkL’s employee engagement survey. These have been developed by specialists including behavioural scientists, business leaders, academics and others to examine areas such as employee engagement, wellbeing and discretionary effort in the workplace.
Alto’s recognition in the category for organisations with ten to 49 staff comes hot on the heels of the announcement that the company will invest more than £250,000 in streamlining products and services. This will have a particular focus on AI, automation and cybersecurity with the latter now accounting for more than a third of the company’s work.
Founded in 2009 and owned by CEO Bruce Skinner, Alto’s 13-strong team is based in the North East of Scotland. The company draws on many decades of in-house experience to deliver products and services of the highest calibre to a growing client base across manufacturing, food, energy services, healthcare and other sectors. Clients are located throughout the UK and in overseas locations including Spain, France, Denmark, Canada, the USA and the Philippines.
Commenting on the Sunday Times Best Places to Work award, CEO Bruce Skinner said: “Alto has successfully created an open culture which lifts its people to have the freedom to operate within a framework, ultimately building a business that everyone can be proud of.
“Ultimately Alto seeks to be challenged to strive towards being better today than yesterday in delivering on its pillars of being supportive, committed and authentic to people inside and outside the organisation.”
