Google is adding passkey support for its most vulnerable users

Passkeys are designed to replace passwords and are considered more resistant to phishing and data breaches.

Google began offering passkeys to all Google account users in late 2022.In July 2024, Google began offering passkeys to users of its Advanced Protection Program (APP), which is designed to add an extra layer of security for people who are at high risk of being targeted by hackers.Passkeys are more secure than passwords because they are not stored on websites and cannot be phished or stolen in a data breach.

The Password killer known as “passkeys” are now available to users of Google advanced protection program , which works to add an additional layer of account protection for people who fear that they could face targeted digital attacks.
